THE IDS-NIREM METHOD:
There is no other practical-based learning approach like the IDS-NIREM
Method. It is unique. It replicates real world business challenges
in every project undertaken. People who have studied in this way
can always recognize others who have. They are confident, assured
and ready to tackle anything.
The IDS-NIREM Method makes learning more relevant and exciting to
you, by taking your courses into live business environments. It is
practical and project-based - and emanates from the principle that
education is more rewarding when it is put into practice. You’ll
appreciate how the theory can be applied to work situations.
Real-life management problems don’t fit neatly into subject areas
or textbook solutions. So, on the IDS-NIREM Diplomas, you’re
involved in a range of management functions. Because you work with
sponsor companies across industry sectors, you’ll have experience
of working to meet a client’s demands, experience that will
impress potential employers.
The Real Estate Business Project:
The highlight of our program is the real-life business project.
All students undertake the project in the final stage of their
programme. It’s your chance to stretch your potential across
international boundaries, and is the culmination of the IDS-NIREM
Method.
You apply what you’ve learned in the earlier part of the programme:
you work with colleagues from different background in a
pressurized situation - ideal preparation for the international
business environment. As a reflection of a real working
environment the project involves extensive primary research,
travel across several property markets and a high level of project
management and client contact.
The employment benefits:
The real life business project exposes you to unstructured,
multi-dimensional international business problems faced by senior
managers. You’ll boost your CV by getting involved with new
companies and new work areas. You’ll also have more impressive
examples to discuss at interview. Depending upon your
concentration, your project may include real-life business issues
such as market entry strategies, assessing the viability of
commercial information services, brand promotion strategies,
determining locations for new operations etc.
During projects, you will have the opportunity to work with
multi-national real estate developers, international property
advisors, real estate venture capital funds and private equities,
housing finance institutions, development & planning authorities
etc.
Beyond the Classroom:
World’s Fastest Growing Property Market as Your Laboratory
To combine the theoretical learning of the classroom with
real-life experiences, you interact with industry leaders through
internships, research experiences, and a project conducted in the
world’s one of the most vigorous and challenging real estate
markets—The Indian Real Estate Market. At an institute that draws
strength from its city and the wider world, the institution
carefully cultivates a network of leading professionals to enrich
the real estate program. On any given day, IDS-NIREM is a hive of
industry activity and a rich array of special events, including a
student arranged speaker series, breakfast programs, lectures, and
panel discussions.
Ultimately, you and your classmates become the next generation of
real estate professionals from which industry leaders choose their
employees, developers, or company heads. Your advantage will be
that many of the industry’s top professionals are people you will
have already met. No matter what area you choose as your
specialty, you can expect to make use of IDS-NIREM’s carefully
maintained relationships inside the industry and experience NCR,
the harbinger of real estate revolution in India, as the living
laboratory in which you are conducting your graduate experience
and building extraordinary professional relationships.
The Teaching & Learning Strategy:
Preparation
During the early part of the programmes, the core courses build up
your ‘toolkit’ of skills and knowledge. This is where other
management programmes end. The extra time on our programme allows
you to then apply what you learn.
Practice
You will work in groups on real-life issues provided by the real
estate industry, with a high level of academic supervision. You
will build confidence through group work and learn, within a
supportive environment, some fairly hard lessons about group
processes, project management and delivery. Teamwork is a
particularly important aspect of the
IDS-NIREM
Method, and, as soon as you arrive on the programme you work in
different project groups.
Action
You now move on to the exciting part - learning leadership,
negotiation and project based management skills by working on real
business problems and opportunities with major players of the
industry. The institute assists you in short listing company for
you and offers a surplus of projects. Among these is the
International Business Project where you work as consultants for a
large organisation, going through a bidding process to attract
clients and traveling internationally to research and complete the
project. On the Executive MBA you can bring in projects from your
company and apply your learning in your day-to-day work.
