The Teaching & Learning Strategy:
Preparation
During the early part of the programmes, the core courses build up your ‘toolkit’ of skills and knowledge. This is where other management programmes end. The extra time on our programme allows you to then apply what you learn.
Practice
You will work in groups on real-life issues provided by the real estate industry, with a high level of academic supervision. You will build confidence through group work and learn, within a supportive environment, some fairly hard lessons about group processes, project management and delivery. Teamwork is a particularly important aspect of the IDS-NIREM Method, and, as soon as you arrive on the programme you work in different project groups.
Action
You now move on to the exciting part - learning leadership, negotiation and project based management skills by working on real business problems and opportunities with major players of the industry. The institute assists you in short listing company for you and offers a surplus of projects. Among these is the International Business Project where you work as consultants for a large organisation, going through a bidding process to attract clients and traveling internationally to research and complete the project. On the Executive MBA you can bring in projects from your company and apply your learning in your day-to-day work.
